Aren't you glad God gives you the time of day? Even though he knows all there is to know of you he let's you ramble and wrestle and cry before him however long you need.
He has all eternity to be there for you. He concentrates solely on you. He knows you intimately.
The new word is "plastic"---yet those using it do not wait for the answer to the million dollar question---"how are you?" Do you got 43 years to hear? God does. Ask me how I am with the intent to intercede for me later or then even. "plastic" questions are everywhere and require no effort except to wait for the answers. Do you wait or give a "plastic" speech to one who walks a battlefield daily? Walk with me as I walk with my God and see the wonders of a merciful and gracious Lord and Saviour. One who patiently and diligently cares for me every step of the day. One who watches over me when I sleep. One who cradles my concerns and burdens close to his own heart.
Oh to answer the question "how are you?"------many things (most) are thrown to the feet of Jesus--so many things are God's domain----I feel as if I'm an onlooker on this life. Looking at God's hand at work in this world for his people and those he draws to be his people.
Circumstances do not matter. Bring it on. Let's move on. Forward.
Instead of asking "how are you?"---how about ,"How's God working in your day?"
Focus on an always uplifting question. Not a question demanding a longer answer you may not want to deal with.
So, how's God working in my day?In spite of attacks on the outside my God surrounds and cares for me all the more diligently. To be carried in God's loving arms is the place to be. I know my God lives. Praise His Holy Name. I may say I'm fine when you ask "how are you?" But I'm always mindful of how God is and his day. My well being is not tied to my well being. I'm blessed with a front row seat (aka frontlines) and I will not look back. |
